My Dream Reading Space

I recently came across Arhaus, an American based home furniture company and I wanted share my dream reading space. This got the wheels turning inside my head. What if I could create my own special spot to just unwind and curl up with a great book? What if I had no limits or restrictions and was free to do whatever I wanted? Well here is my own vision of my dream reading space..

My dream reading room must be warm and cozy. A spot that can be my refuge, my escape from reality. It doesn’t have to be a large room. Yet big enough to house my ever expanding book collection.

Colour Inspiration

I love this nature inspired theme with rich browns, leafy greens and crisp white. These colours will be represented in the furniture, the wall colour and seating.

No reading room would be complete without a place to showcase your collection of tomes. This Athens Modular Library (in Cigar Brown) has plenty of storage and even comes with a ladder! Keeping with the same dark wood style I would also include a Toulon Rectangle Coffee Table and two Toulon Square End Tables. To see more tables from Arhaus click here.

Not only will I represent this snowy white landscape in the trim of molding around my reading room, but in the seating a well. This plush Baldwin Queen Slipcovered Sofa (in Deso Snow) looks like a comfy spot to get lost in a good story and I’d love to sink into this Emory Deep Slipcovered Chair (also in Deso Snow).

The green of the leaves will be represented in the wall colour with this Meadow Paint (also from Arhaus). And in the decor including lots of throw pillows and warm blankets.

All that is missing now is a crackling fire and a window with a view like in my own Red House on the Rock.

What would you include in your dream reading room? I’d love to hear your thoughts so leave me a comment below.

  1. The very 1st room I did in my house I moved into in January was build a library in one of the rooms in the basement! Clean, dry, cozy, walls are painted an off-white, dark red and brown bricks are randomly stamped on the walls, 2 tall torchiere lamps of polished dark brown metal, a burgungy leather chaise lounge (sooo comfortable) and two burgundy fabric sitting chairs. I used wooden crates that I spraypainted with an satin espresso paint, finished it with a huge abstract area rug of tan, burgundy, and dark browns. Absolutely love it!
