My Reading Progress

Lately I have been feeling slightly slumpish when it comes to reading. In the past couple of weeks I have started and abandoned the following two books..

Normally I am very reluctant to DNF a book, as I feel that if I invested the time into reading a significant chunk of it, I might as well finish. So it was strange for me to give up on two books in such a short time. My reasoning for each DNF’ing these books are explained in the links I provided. I just felt like my time was better spent moving on to something more enjoyable. Thankfully the next two books I chose were more to my liking.

I completed my re-read of The Luxe by Anna Godbersen. I decided to pick this one up to refresh myself before continuing on to the sequel Rumors (Luxe, #2).  After reading this for a second time, my thoughts and rating are still the same. While this novel kept my attention, it definitely didn’t wow me. I hope that I will enjoy book two more.

The Measure of Katie Calloway (Michigan Northwoods, #1) by Serena B. Miller

With another busy week ahead of me, I hope that I can at least make a small dent in this book, but only time will tell.

I’d love to know what you are all reading this week. Leave me a message in the comments below.

  1. I am getting more and more comfortable DNFing a book. It still bothers me some when it is a review book that I accepted. But I want to enjoy reading. This is my hobby, not my job. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  2. I hate to DNF but sometimes I just have to. If a book isn’t working I won’t pick it up and then everything grinds to a halt. 🙂

The Measure of Katie Calloway caught my eye due to the Michigan Northwoods tag. As a Michigan reader I always like to see books set here. Have a great week!

    1. I’m the same. It just zaps my motivation to read.

I’m enjoying The Measure of Katie Calloway so far. The setting is different from any other I’ve read being in a lumber camp. Thanks for stopping by Greg.
